It's the, edge of the world and all of Western civilization"
- Red Hot Chili Peppers ('CaliforniCation')
Where is it 'Close To The Edge'
(Yes) ? Would you believe New York City (ie; America (Flash and the Pan is Austrailian based. From another song from this most influential album - "Just came down, from New York Town, it really feels like hell (HELL!), it really feels like..." ('Hey St. Peter'))). Here's evidence. This appears to be the original overseas cover that the above cover was cut from (ie; the uncensored version) -
And since "Blue you look so pretty, west of 'The Wall' (Pink Floyd)" (Red Hots ('Road Trippin'')), I'll include these lousy (sorry! Bad scanner) scans of the American release of the same album -

It's a 8 1/2 minute long, so this is a huge file (8.1 meg)
as it's recorded at 44.1 kc, 16bit stereo, just to warn ya!
But well worth it, IMHO.
For more sequences/.MP3s of 'Flash and the Pan' covers, visit the 'Stan and the Sequencers' website (look for the MIDI page!) -
And BTW and FYI: "A black and white, a red and blue, I think they look good on you"
- Red Hot Chili Peppers ('PurPle STAiN')
BUT - this webpage was created after the release of CaliforniCation (which was on June 8, 1999, for 'Smash Mouth' fan's information), so this page is synching to it. If you want to understand that line from 'PurPle STAiN', well, you'll find the origination somewhere on my website. Ok, I'll help a little. Somewhere buried under some "moaning low" (Tom Waits ('What's He Building?'))
